I received a shiny new Cintiq Companion
yesterday. For those of you who don't know it's the latest in the Wacom Cintiq range. It is essentially a smaller sized Cintiq built into a Windows 8 tablet.
Now that I've got it all setup and my required software on it I've taken it for a test run today working on some photos from ~QueenRiot's
Red Sonja shoot at DragonCon earlier this year.
It's certainly a different experience using the Cintiq as opposed to my old Intuos 4 that's kept me going for the last few years. The full touch capabilities make for a nice touch at times. I'm enjoying it a lot but I can see there's a number of things I'm going to have to adjust to as part of my workflow until I get fluent with it.
In the coming week I'll likely put up a more comprehensive review as well as one or two of the new pieces I'll do on it.
I'll be back in Chicago from the end of this month until mid-January. Hopefully I can use this bad boy to get some work done on the plane and keep up to date with projects while over there.
